Wells Fargo Reflect® Card

The CardSnark Verdict

The Wells Fargo Reflect® is a specialist. It doesn't do rewards. It doesn't do cash back. It does one thing: It gives you an absurdly long time to pay off your debt without interest. With a market-leading 21 months of 0% APR, it is arguably the best tool for financing a large purchase or consolidating debt, provided you can stomach the 5% transfer fee.

👍 The Good Stuff

  • 21 Months 0% APR: A massive intro period on purchases and transfers.
  • Cell Phone Protection: Up to $600 coverage (rare for non-rewards cards).
  • No Annual Fee: It costs nothing to hold.
  • My Wells Fargo Deals: Access to merchant offers like cash back at Starbucks.

👎 The Bad Stuff

  • Balance Transfer Fee: 5% fee is higher than the 3% standard.
  • Zero Rewards: You earn nothing for spending.
  • Foreign Fees: 3% on international transactions.

The Deep Dive

The Wells Fargo Reflect doesn’t pretend to be fun. It is a financial tool designed to pause interest payments for nearly two years. If you can’t pay off your debt in 21 months, you need a bankruptcy lawyer, not a credit card.

The Offer (The Extension)

You get a 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. This is currently one of the longest offers on the market.

The “5% Fee” Debate

Most cards charge a 3% balance transfer fee. The Reflect charges 5% ($5 min). Is getting 21 months (vs 15 or 18 months on other cards) worth an extra $100 fee on a $5,000 transfer? If you really need the time, yes. If you can pay it off in 15 months, get the Wells Fargo Active Cash instead (lower fee + rewards).

Reflect vs. Simplicity

These are the two titans of the 21-month offer. The Citi Simplicity usually wins on math because it typically has a lower transfer fee (3% intro) and no late fees. The Wells Fargo Reflect wins on perks because it includes Cell Phone Protection.

Who Should Get This Card?

  1. You need the absolute maximum time possible (21 months) to pay off debt.
  2. You want cell phone insurance but don’t want to pay an annual fee.
  3. You already bank with Wells Fargo.
